Welcome to the site of the Royal Botanical Society of the Netherlands (KNBV)!

The KNBV is one of the oldest scientific societies of the Netherlands (founded in 1845) with about 350 members. The society wants to promote the knowledge of plants in the broadest sense. Therefore, research and education in such divergent areas as plant ecology, plant taxonomy, vegetation science, plant physiology and plant molecular biology are stimulated by the society.

This site shows that this takes place by all kind of activities, including a Newsletter, our own scientific journal 'Plant Biology', excursions and symposia on various subjects organised by specialised sections of the society. Additionally, there are grants available for scientific activities in the plant field for members.

Therefore: subscribe to the KNBV and become part of the largest botanical network of the Netherlands!
